Fashion Nova, a fashion brand based in LA has 19M followers on Instagram. They seemingly came out of nowhere and blew up, mostly because of their jeans. PrettyLittleThing, a brand based in the UK has 12.5M followers and is one of Fashion Nova’s biggest competitor on Instagram.
I’ve ordered from both brands many times, I’ll start with Fashion Nova. I don’t even want to think about how much money I’ve given FN. Sadly, after every order I was always disappointed by at least one thing from them. Personally, the tops from FN don’t always fit my style or aesthetic. FN has a lot of night out clothes when you’re only traveling by car. The tops also don’t always fit right. I’m usually a size Medium in tops, but with Fashion Nova I never know if the Medium is going to be too big, too small, or just right. I ordered a Medium shirt recently and it turned it to be a Small/Medium and the material is very tight and pretty uncomfortable. Their return policy is horrible, and if you choose to return properly, they don’t refund the total amount. They also only give you an e-gift card for FN, they don’t actually refund you to your bank account. Pants (non-denim) are also very tricky from FN. For me, most times the pants from FN are too big on me despite it being my size. Shipping used to be fast, I would usually get my orders within 2-3 business days. Now, maybe because of COVID, I don’t get my packages until 7 business days or more. The only thing I will shop at FN for now are the jeans. The good ones are really stretchy and are good material, they run about $35+. The cheaper ones seem nice in pictures but in person the material feels weird and too tight. Bodysuits and lingerie from FN are beautiful and true to size. You get what you pay for and FashionNova is no exception. Currently, they’re having a sale of 50-80% off.
Now, PrettyLittleThing (PLT). I’ve fallen in love with PLT. They have a good distribution of every aesthetic and style. Since my style is a mix between girly and classic, PLT is my favorite. But they also have sporty and comfortable clothes. I got a pair of jeans from PLT, they fit right but the material feels weird on me and I can’t wear them until it’s colder outside because they feel warm. I’m very sensitive to materials so maybe it’s just me. PLT always has some sale going on. They also have beautiful clothes and dresses for special occasions. I wore a long, silver dress for my sisters sweet 16, which I got on PLT for 50% off and it looks like I spent hundreds on that dress. Since they’re from the UK, the shipping takes longer than FN but not much of a difference considering FN takes a lot longer now. I think PLT takes about 9-14 business days to receive your package. PLT currently has a sale of up to 70% off.
Overall, in my opinion, I rate FashionNova 6/10 and PrettyLittleThing 9/10.

Wow I’m checking out PLT as we speak with that rating and review! As for FN, I see where you’re coming from. I have 11 of their bottoms, 3 dresses, and 3 tops. I was disappointed by 2 of the jeans and 1 dress. You’re right about the difference in the material of the jeans when it’s at a certain price range. Also, the majority of their models have unrealistic bodies so their clothes ends up looking so different on you that you really start questioning your purchase. I agree that their clothes can be a hit or miss. I would give FN a 7.5/10. Here is one of the dresses that I liked.
